CARERS CREATING CAPACITY

Active Moves for Active Living
- helping Carers and those they care for stay fit and healthy!
The benefits of keeping physically active are well recognised, from simply feeling better physically and mentally, to having more energy, enjoying better health as well as improved sleep and day to day functioning.
While regular physical activity is essential for everyone it is especially important for family carers and volunteers in helping maintain their health and well being.
Active Ageing Australia is offering a practical and interactive training course ‘Active Moves for Active Living’ to help improve the skills and capacity of carers or volunteers and those they care for, to stay well and keep active.
‘Active Moves for Active Living’ will show participants how to use the take home resource booklet of flexibility, strength and balance exercises, to plan and tailor a program to meet their needs. In addition each participant will receive the ‘Get Active for Living’ DVD as an ongoing demonstration tool in their home.
‘Active Moves for Active Living’ provides a well designed, evidence based support system to help carers or volunteers and those they care for maintain an active lifestyle from their own home.
Training dates and venues for 2011 to be announced.
To register your interest for an AMAL training, please complete the online registration form.
